Bit of an update on Desecrator, my new Quake episode.

Been slow going. I’ve finished the first level proper, Malebolge. Whether I will continue with this map set, or just release this one level, I’m not sure yet. At the start, the idea of making a short episode seemed appealing but I overestimated my drive and desire to put in the time to make this a reality. That and I don’t have as many ideas as I thought I have.

I’ve started a second level, and will see how that goes, so it could be a while yet before this is done, if it ever is. Making Quake levels is quite time consuming, and while I could set aside the time, whether it is worth my investment is another matter.

But if this level set does come to fruition, it will be influenced by Dante’s Inferno. The first level, Malebolge is based on a dream I had, where I saw the concentric circles of hell. If there are more levels, they will continue the progression through the underworld.
